Chayed Out, D-Man

Thomas Jack – Vol. 5

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past year, Thomas Jack’s midas’ touch is no mystery. The 20 year old Aussie DJ has quickly become the leading source for tropical house jams. Much like The Chainsmokers, or other DJ’s that have recently risen in popularity, a substantial part of Jack’s genius is his music taste. It’s hard to go wrong when remixing bands like The Oh Hello’s, Bon Iver and Of Monsters and Men.

I rarely post a mix. Good ones are few and far between. Keeping a listener entranced for over an hour is a tall order. Especially nowadays when my attention span is shot.

But Thomas Jack’s Vol. 5 kills it. Maybe a few songs aren’t perfect, but Jack’s transitions are so subtle that you’re rarely ever pulled out of the flow of the mix. He introduces new jams and weaves in some oldies.

So, put it to good use. Clean your room, go for a bike ride, make out with your girl, longboard down the street, or just be pumped that it’s the weekend.

P.S. For those of you in SF, tickets for Thomas Jack’s show at The Independent go on sale tomorrow. Get em’ before they’re gone.
